The Penn State Berks Advisory Board Annual Scholarship will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or who plan to enroll at Penn State Berks. First preference shall be given to students who graduated from a high school located within the Penn State Berks service area.
Penn State Berks is celebrating its history while preparing students for the future through National Engineers Week events and activities, to be held Feb. 20 to 24. While the college’s roots in engineering date back to 1927, Penn State has offered engineering degrees for more than 125 years.
Roman Voskoboynikov, a junior biochemistry and molecular biology major at Penn State Berks, is the recipient of the Undergraduate Fellowship from the Cayman Biomedical Research Institute for his research on "The regulation of lipid transport and metabolism by the splicing factor glorund in the Drosophila intestine."
Seven new graduates of the Penn State Berks practical nursing program crossed the stage during the Penn State Berks fall commencement on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Santander Arena. The students earned their certificates in practical nursing and are eligible to test for the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse, or NCLEX-PN.
When Safitaj Sindhar was a young girl growing up in Punjab, India, she never dreamed that she would be graduating at the top of her class with plans to attend medical school. Sindhar will earn her bachelor of science in biology with the genetics and development option, and a minor in psychological sciences, on Thursday, Dec. 15, during Penn State Berks' fall 2022 commencement ceremony.

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Penn State Berks will hold its 10th annual Latino Forum from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. This special event is free and open to students from all Berks County high schools, and will be held live and also virtually.
In an effort to better serve its adult student learners, Penn State Berks has launched the Adult Learner Peer Mentor Program in the fall 2022 semester. The program seeks to enhance and enrich adult education by pairing seasoned and academically successful adult learners with incoming adult students.
Penn State Berks is helping a future generation of engineering students to succeed through the college’s Engineering Ahead Program, which is now in its seventh year. The goal of the four-week summer “bridge” program, which ran from June 26 to July 22, is to increase retention rates among a diverse group of engineering students by enhancing academic preparedness and providing support.
When Miranda Hillyard enrolled as a student at Penn State Berks, she wanted to diversify her skill set, and the Certificate in Spanish for Healthcare seemed like the perfect solution. She graduated in the spring of 2022 with a baccalaureate degree in sociology, a minor in Spanish, and a specialized certificate that gives her an added advantage in the job market.
